BIOGRAPHY

Chris Nelson is an abstract, mixed-media artist located in Barrie, Ontario. His intuitive art is a deeply personal exploration of the self that transcends traditional boundaries. As an abstract mixed-media artist, Nelson finds that intuitive creation allows him to weave together colors, textures, and forms in a way that reflects his inner landscape. It’s about embracing the flow-state, where his emotions guide each brushstroke and material choice.

This process transforms Nelson's art into a powerful medium for connection and growth, inviting viewers to engage with their own feelings and experiences.

To nurture his intuitive art approach, Nelson immerses himself in a creative process that prioritizes spontaneity and exploration. He allows his inner child to play, embracing curiosity and experimentation without the pressure of a specific outcome. This playful mindset frees Nelson to explore new techniques and materials while staying true to his artistic style.

Nelson has been a part of the shared studio space and gallery, Spare Room located in downtown Barrie, Ontario.
He is currently working on a new abstract collection exploring softer palettes, textures and translucency.
